Constantly improving throughout the 1990s and thereby pushing its competitors to innovate, Upper Deck beat The Topps Company to the "Super" punch by over half a decade when it issued its Super Script parallels to its 1999 MVP baseball set. The cards were similar to their Gold and Silver Signature parallels of previous years, only the Super Scripts now featured a holographic foil, and they were super short-printed to just 25 serial-numbered copies produced. Finding examples in any condition of key superstars from its inaugural year in 1999 is next to impossible, which is what makes this Derek Jeter offering so impressive.

The offered example has been graded PSA 10 Gem Mint, and not only is it the only 1999 Derek Jeter Super Script ever graded PSA 10, but it is also one of just four total Super Script examples from the entire 220-card set to ever make the top grade at PSA, with Manny Ramirez and Mark McGwire (2) ranking as the only others in the Gem Mint 10 column. Although this Jeter is the only copy on record at PSA, we've never seen another Jeter copy in any condition, so don't expect to find one any time soon. This is a rare opportunity to pick up one of The Captain's least encountered super short-prints numbered 25 or less from the height of the late 1990s insert period, which just so happened to coincide with the New York Yankees' last dynasty. A matchless addition to even the most advanced Jeter collections in existence.
