The 1999 Upper Deck Forte set is a multi-tiered 30-card insert set showcasing the game's best players. Each card could be found in an unnumbered base or blue version, a die-cut green or Double version limited to 2,000 serial-numbered copies, a die-cut red or Triple version limited to 100 serial-numbered copies, and a die-cut purple or Quadruple version limited to just ten copies produced. All tiers feature a holographic foil front along with metallic foil highlights, which makes them not only some of the prettiest inserts of the period but also incredibly condition sensitive. eBay seller 4_sharp_corners currently lists a PSA 8 graded Jeter purple Quadruple for $2,849.99, while another seller offers an ungraded Quadruple for $7,500.

Proudly offered by Small Traditions with no reserve, our copy here has been graded PSA 10 Gem Mint and is the only PSA 10 Gem Mint graded purple Quadruple of any player from the entire 30-card checklist. If that doesn't set your rarity radar ablaze with bells and whistles, then consider the fact that the offered masterpiece is also serial-numbered to Jeter's retired New York Yankees jersey #2. There is no one-of-one masterpiece for this popular insert set, so this truly is as good as it gets: a Pop 1 PSA 10 super-short-printed jersey-number purple Quadruple holographic die-cut foil parallel. Phew, that's a mouthful! It's also an eye-full; in person, these cards are inexplicably prettier than they look online. For many centuries, the color purple has been used to signify royalty and majesty, and for many more centuries to come, this regal Jeter will remain one of the single most treasured baseball cards of the period. Do not miss this chance to add it to your hallowed collection today.
