Offered is a highly unusual Mickey Mantle collectible most advanced Mantle enthusiasts probably thought simply didn't exist: a high-grade example of The Mick's seldom-seen 1964 Meadowgold Dairy issue. Printed for a brief period on the sides of milk cartons 55 years ago, only 16 total copies have survived the last half-century to be submitted to PSA for professional third-party evaluation. While PSA doesn't distinguish the colors, both a green and a blue tint version exist. The offered blue example has been graded PSA 8 NM-MT and ranks as the single highest graded copy on record, a powerhouse Pop 1 masterpiece with none graded higher.

Not only is the offered copy the finest in existence, but the next best copies on record at PSA consist of a single example that ranks three full numerical grades lower in the EX 5 category followed by two copies graded VG-EX+ 4.5 and another three copies graded VG-EX 4. This is a stunning and statistically powerful addition to the Mickey Mantle Master Set Registry roles on record at PSA, a card that stands head and shoulders above all other copies on record and will distinguish even the smallest Mantle collections from the very best multi-million-dollar assemblies in existence.

For those uninitiated in the ways of Set Registry collecting, a player's Master Set Registry consists of one copy of every card, postcard, sticker, decal, stamp, pin, pog, whatever—anything with the player's likeness that can fit inside of a PSA holder. The numerical grades for these various items can then be averaged together in order to compare different collections. The Mantle Master set currently contains 267 items, which are assigned a weight or multiplier of between 1.00 and 12.00 to help distinguish between truly rare and relatively common cards. Of the 267 checklisted Mantle items on the Mantle Master Set Registry, only 26 of those boast a weight of 6.00 or higher. These are the rarest Mantle cards in existence, and the 1964 Meadowgold Dairy is one of them.
