Derek Jeter retired from Major League Baseball in 2014, which made his hundreds of different baseball cards produced in 2015 the final cards of his career, as they reflected the previous season. For this same reason, this is why Mickey Mantle's last card of his career is his 1969 Topps card, because he retired in 1968. Of the almost countless Jeter cards produced in 2015, some of the more attractive and collected were those produced by Topps in its popular Topps Chrome and Topps Finest brands. Topps Chrome made him the #1 card in the set, while Topps Finest dedicated an entire 10-card career highlights retrospective insert set to the Yankee legend. The 2015 Topps Finest Die Cut Careers set memorializes ten of The Captains' most memorable career moments. The set begins with card #FC-1, which documents Jeter's 1996 Opening Day home run off veteran pitcher Dennis Martinez. Each card from the 2015 Finest Careers Jeter set can be found in a base version, a Refractor version numbered to 25 copies produced, and a Superfractor version, numbered to just one masterpiece copy made, a so-called one-of-one masterpiece Offered here is the set's first Superfractor card #FC-1 graded PSA 10 Gem Mint. Only one other Superfractor from this popular set has ever been graded by PSA, which received a grade of NM-MT 8, and only a handful of the Refractors have graded PSA 10. They're die-cut design makes them a very tough issue to grade.
