The 1982 Topps baseball set features a lengthy list of Hall of Famers and key rookie cards, most notably from Cooperstown inductees Cal Ripken, Jr. and Lee Smith. Expect to find anywhere from 15 to 25 examples of each in this 20-box case of 1982 Topps baseball wax boxes. PSA 10 Gem Mint graded examples of these iconic rookie cards are fairly easy to procure from packs and routinely sell for between $700 and $900, while the last two BGS 10 Pristine copies of Cal Ripken, Jr. fetched $6,000 and $13,000, respectively. Furthermore, if grading is your thing, VintageCardPrices.com lists the value of a completely PSA 10 graded set at $30,147.

While BGS 10s of early 1980s Hall of Fame rookie cards are among the hobby's most challenging discoveries, the best chance of encountering them lies within unopened product. Other key encounters include challenging low-pop condition rarities of Reggie Jackson and Tom Seaver, plus the regular lineup of considerably valued Hall of Famers: Nolan Ryan, Rickey Henderson, George Brett, Mike Schmidt, Ozzie Smith, Carl Yastrzemski, Johnny Bench, Eddie Murray, and so many more.

Unopened boxes tpyically fetch between $300 and $400 on eBay, whether certified or not, which puts the total break value here at $6,000 to $8,000. Then again, a single Ripken rookie graded BGS 10 Pristine would likely eclipse that. Although the case itself has been opened, we guarantee that every box is original, intact, and unsearched.
