Easily the coolest of the new items to hit the Sandy Koufax Master Set Registry since the introduction of PSA's new jumbo holder, the 1963 LA Dodgers Pin-Ups are a play on the 1938 Goudey Heads-up cards, only they're about five times bigger. Measuring almost square at 7-1/4 by 8-1/2 inches, their design features a full color head-and-cap portrait that sits atop a much smaller cartoon-drawn body. Backs are blank, and the characters are die-cut to allow for their easy removal from the background. If you were a Dodgers fan in the 1960s, chances are you saw these for sale at Dodger Stadium souvenir stands in white envelopes titled "Los Angeles Dodgers Pin-Ups." The offered example of Sandy Koufax has been graded PSA 6 EX-MT and is one of only two examples on record at PSA. With no discernible flaws—the mark in the upper left corner is a familiar printer's symbol for guiding the cutting process—it's difficult to say precisely what has kept this obviously uncirculated example from rating significantly higher.
