Offered is a near perfectly centered specimen of Mickey Mantle's popular 1960 Topps #350 issue that has been graded NM 7 by PSA. Whispers of wear at the extreme corner tips joins some typical print snow to demote what otherwise looks like a solid NM-MT 8 candidate to the accurate grade of NM 7. When we first encountered this card in our consignor's collection, the recessed plastic case in which it was housed for the last 30 years fooled us into thinking that the card actually looked mint. Once removed from its case, however, its mild corner touches and light print became evident. Despite these tolerable imperfections, the card is unquestionably a higher-end example for the grade, and its strong centering distinguishes from the vast majority of copies in existence. For the discriminating collector in search of a higher-end 1960 Topps Mantle but who is unwilling or unable to pay the $20,000 a PSA 9 Mint example commands, this PSA 7 Near Mint example will more than suffice. In fact, if you compare this copy to the three different PSA 9s that sold in 2019, we think you'll agree that this pleasing Near Mint 7 offers comparable if not superior aesthetic appeal but for a tenth of the price. Very strongly recommended.
