2017 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, ESPN analyst, and aspiring professional baseball moundsman Tracy Lamar McGrady Jr. entered the NBA straight out of high school and was selected by Toronto with the 9th overall pick in the first round of the 1997 NBA Draft. The following year, he teamed with rookie Vince Carter to form one of the most exciting, high-flying duos the NBA (and certainly Canada) had ever seen. In 2000, he left the Raptors for Orlando, with whom he led the NBA in scoring in consecutive seasons in 2002-03 and 2003-04. Joining the Rockets the following year, he teamed with international sensation Yao Ming to help Houston return to relevance in the NBA, at one point winning 22 consecutive games, then the third-most in league history. Massively popular with fans and collectors, McGrady's rookie season of 1997 coincided with the onset of the low-numbered insert card mania that now dominates modern card collecting. One of just five examples graded PSA 10 Gem Mint, offered here is a virtually perfect example of McGrady's 1997 Skybox Z-Force Super Rave parallel. Serial numbered 15 out of just 50 copies made, it is arguably McGrady's single most coveted rookie card and unquestionably one of the single most significant basketball rookie cards produced in the late 1990s.
