One of the more difficult Derek Jeter rookies to obtain in PSA 10 Gem Mint condition is his 1996 Upper Deck Folz Vending Machine Mini card. Back in '96, Upper Deck partnered with Long Island-based Foltz Vending to create a 48-card mini set for insertion in the company's nationwide network of vending machines. The distribution method of the cards—they were, after all, ejected from vending machines—in addition to their full-bleed (borderless) color fronts has made locating flawless examples a true challenge. This lot offers one of just two Jeter Folz rookies to earn a cherished PSA 10 grade. An investment piece to be sure, it is a small miracle that this card survived its insertion by a vendor, expulsion from a machine, and handling from a kid, to emerge unblemished and end up in a gem mint holder. If this one isn't already on your Yankee Captain want list, it needs to be.
