When it comes to the world of fine art and collectibles, the name "Tiffany" evokes an air of luxury and quality, no doubt thanks in large part to 19th-century American artisan Louis Comfort Tiffany. In the world of sports cards, Tiffany refers to the premium boxed sets produced by Topps paralleling its basic sets from 1984-91, and its Bowman issue from 1990-91. The 1990 Bowman Tiffany set is especially rare for its era, with only 3,000 sets made, a tiny fraction of the production run of the '90 Bowman base set. Printed on high quality white paper stock and given the glossy treatment, the two year run of Bowman Tiffany sets gave collectors a premium option when seeking out key rookie cards including those of Ken Griffey Jr., Sammy Sosa, John Smoltz, and Frank Thomas. Speaking of Thomas, we believe the Big Hurt's card, #320 in the 1990 set, is the most undervalued of all his RCs, in large part because all of the slugger's other rookies are overshadowed by his 1990 Topps No Name On Front card, one of the most famous and valuable error cards in hobby history.

Offered here is one of the two highest graded examples of Thomas's 1990 Bowman Tiffany card in existence. In fact, this BGS 10 Pristine rookie can rightfully be called the best of the best, as it is boasts three perfect 10 subgrades along with a 9.5 edges mark, meaning it was a mere 0.5 points away from earning Beckett's venerated "Black Label" (four 10 subgrades). The longtime White Sox first baseman was one of the premier players of his generation, with two American League MVP awards and 521 career home runs. This is an investment piece with substantial growth potential, as the competition for top Thomas cards has seriously heated up over the past few years.
