As PSA states on its Set Registry page for the 1986-87 Fleer Sticker issue, "The 1986-87 Fleer Sticker set is about as condition sensitive as they come... The cards were also prone to some major cutting issues at the factory, which resulted in many of them resembling more of a "diamond" shape rather than a standard 2 ½ x 3 ½ card. [Please see our 1986-87 Fleer Set for an example.] The Jordan "Rookie Sticker" is the crown jewel of this set." We couldn't agree more! Population data for the set proves that the sticker cards are much more difficult than the regular 1986-87 Fleer cards, which are tough enough in their own right. Only 73 total copies of the Jordan rookie sticker have ever realized PSA 10 Gem Mint condition from well over 8,000 submissions, compared to 178 copies of the regular card from 13,817 submissions. And yet, despite these compelling statistics, the sticker sells for just a fraction of the $10,000 price tag of the regular card. As time dribbles on, however, we doubt this disparity will continue for very long, especially when we consider that with just six dozen others like it, and a price tag that's not yet out of reach, one single collector could feasibly horde most of the Gem Mint examples ever graded. Not that this is very likely -- though it sure would be fun -- but our point is that it's possible, simply because there are so few of these out there, more than a 100 fewer than its famous counterpart. Whether you already have one or a dozen of them, there may be no better deal in the Jordan market than there is here. One of just 73 copies graded PSA 10 Gem Mint.
