Although he won the National League MVP Award in 1966, many experts agree that Pirates superstar Roberto Clemente had an even better campaign in 1967. In that season, the great Clemente led all of baseball with a .357 batting average, collected 209 hits and produced a 8.9 WAR, all career highs for the Gold Glove outfielder. "The big thing about Clemente is that he can hit any pitch," said Hall of Fame pitcher Juan Marichal, "I don't mean only strikes. He can hit a ball off his ankles or off his ear." Offered here is a bright and "pack-fresh" example of the pride of Puerto Rico's 1967 Dexter Press Premiums card. This oversized card, measuring 5-1/2" by 7" and printed in absolutely stunning color, has been graded Mint 9 by PSA, and is one of only two examples to earn this lofty mark. It is under-the-radar cards like this that comprise the core of advanced player collections, and we are proud to offer this rare masterpiece to the cadre of dedicated Clemente fans worldwide.
