In 1963, Post issued its third and final set of standard sized 2½" by 3½" baseball cards on boxes of its various cereal brands. Printed in six or seven card panels on the back of these boxes, these collectibles were designed to be cut from their packaging by young consumers. As you can imagine, the vast majority of these cereal boxes ended up in garbage cans, and the cards that did survive were undoubtedly extracted by kids in a less-than-expert manner. That is what makes the offered 1963 Post Cereal #121 Sandy Koufax so special. Graded Mint 9 by PSA, it was carefully removed from the cereal box back panel with an artisan's precision—kudos to whoever cut out this card! One of only six examples to earn a PSA 9 mark, with just single copy scoring higher, it hails from Koufax's finest season on the mound, where he incredibly won the Cy Young Award, Triple Crown, National League MVP, and World Series MVP. If you collect the cardboard of the legendary Dodgers southpaw, they don't get any more delicious than this '63 Post Cereal beauty.
