Graded PSA Mint 9. One of the tougher cards from the 1951 Bowman football set to secure in high grades, only one other copy of legendary Steeler Fran Rogel -- "Hey Diddle Diddle, Rogel up the middle" -- has ever attained Mint 9 status from PSA, with no copies grading higher and just 27 copies available in the NM-MT 8 grade. A Pennsylvania native, Rogel played linebacker and fullback for the Penn State Nittany Lions, leading the team in rushing in each of his three years of enrollment. Drafted 100th overall by the Steelers in the 1950 NFL Draft, he then played eight full seasons with Pittsburgh, personifying the blue collar town with his work ethic and hard-nose style of play, earning less than $10,000 a year and never missing a game. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in his final season, and he retired as the Steelers leading career rusher (now 11th on the team's all-time list).
