One of two graded PSA 8 NM-MT with just one graded higher! Not only does the offered 1951 Yankees Team Exhibit card depict the Bronx Bombers in the middle of their record five consecutive World Series championship seasons, but the team picture includes a 19 year-old rookie named Mickey Charles Mantle—middle row, fifth from right—and it is one of just three items on the Mickey Mantle Master Set Registry to feature the future Hall of Famer in his rookie season of 1951 (the other two being his 1951 Bowman rookie card and the 1951 Wheaties Test Premium issue). From a technical standpoint, therefore, the offered item is a Mickey Mantle rookie card. Whether or not you agree with this designation, it is nevertheless one of the very first items listed on PSA's Mickey Mantle Master Set Registry. Incidentally, the card is also one of the last mainstream issues to feature Joe DiMaggio, and it is the only issue we know of to feature both the celebrated Yankee Clipper and his center field replacement on the same card. A significant New York Yankees cardboard memento of monumental status among both Mantle and DiMaggio collectors, the offered card will also appeal to the growing ranks of enthusiastic Exhibit card collectors pursuing high-grade sets. Do not underestimate the demand for this card or the fact that it will likely remain among the single finest copies in existence for the current generation of collectors as well as the next.
